Fall Outfits, Oh My!

You know how sometimes you see a great shirt and you can't make up your mind which color you want? So you go ahead and get them all? That's what happened when I saw this beautiful fall sweater from Adam n Eve. Six irresistible colors. You'll buy them all too, I know you will.

And you know how most of the colors sit in your inventory never to see the light of day? That will not happen with this sweater. No sirree Bob. You'll be wearing them all just like I did.

The Alice sweaters are perfect in every detail - from the knitted texture to the tastefully placed leaves in gorgeous colors and the slightly frilled sculpted cuffs. These are a must-have staple for your fall wardrobe. They are very versatile and you'll find they pair up nicely with most trousers and skirts.

sachi Vixen also released these awesome fall leggings. For a mere 10 lindens you get 2 pairs with green or autumn leaves.

This pretty silk skirt is from BoHo HoBo. It twirls gracefully when you dance and the colors are very appealing. And of course it's a perfect match for the green Alice sweater.

The jewelry is from alaMood. Jori Watler makes awesome casual jewelry. Her chunky pieces are just the thing for daily wear.

These gorgeous Dune boots from Maitreya complete the outfit.

This cute flirty floral skirt is from Milk Motion. I love the bold floral print and the saucy side slit on the skirt.

The Elizabeth jewelry set from Miao sees a lot of use. Like all of Kesseret's jewelry, the metal and gemstones are color change.

I wore these gorgeous boots from Hoorenbeek with this outfit. Join their group to stay updated on all their sales and deals. New releases are often at bargain prices to group members.

A simple pair of cuffed cords from Doppelgänger makes this casual look. And yes, those are a couple of pencils around my neck.

These deck shoes from A-BOMB are a terrific deal. They fit perfectly and come with a HUD to change size and color.

This short hanky skirt is also from BoHo HoBo. Do visit the store. All proceeds from BoHo HoBo go to RAWA (The Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan) to build schools for women and children. It's a good cause and you can't beat the prices.

The Geek Scrabble Necklace from Tree House Treasures is full of win. And is also available in Nerd.

These skillfully crafted sneakers are from Hoorenbeek. How can anyone resist the rich textures and amazing sculpts?

This elegant outfit is just right for a fall evening. The timeless trousers, available in a rich variety of colors, are from Blaze and will see a lot of use. The hair with color change beret is from Fri.day. This soft pashmina shawl from Zaara makes the outfit. The shawls are available in several rich lustrous colors and are flawless like all of Zaara's creations.

Remember when I said ALL the colors of the Alice sweater are must-haves? I meant it.

Crochet Dress

This beautiful hand-crocheted dress is from Indyra Originals. It's sexily revealing yet charmingly innocent. And it's available in 9 gorgeous colors.

The detail on the textures is amazing. You can see the intricate crochet pattern and carefully hooked stitches.

Each dress includes 4 lacy collars with different colored ribbons: cola, gray, ivory and noir. Indyra has spared no detail - right down to the tiny edging on the ribbons.

These boots match the dress perfectly. Notice the detailed stitching and shading. They are very versatile and are available in 10 colors. I totally recommend them.

When you visit Indyra Originals, be sure to look around. This pretty outfit is just the latest in a store full of gorgeous must-have dresses.

Food, Glorious Food!

'Tis the season for parties. And being the good hostess that I am, off I went to Kitchen Korner in search of noms for my guests. And I hit the jackpot!

A Halloween cupcake platter that dispenses 3 kinds of cupcakes is just the thing I need for my coffee table.

I got a board with salad makings that will give my guests yummy bowls of salad with creamy dressing on the side. Hot cider and muffins hit the spot now that the weather is turning chilly. And who can live without this elegant tea set that dispenses pretty pink cupcakes and tea?

I couldn't resist this tuxedo cake. It dishes out the cutest mini tuxedo cakes. And of course no party is complete without Koolaid and cocktails. The wine set is for the after party. ;-)

And now for the real reason I went shopping: My 4th rezday is coming up. Although I'm not sure I can wait that long before I dig into this delightful cake.

Kitchen Korner celebrated its 6th anniversary on July 6th this year. Six years!! Karamel Madison not only has a vast collection of recipes but she is an awesome, sweet and friendly chef. I hope she continues cooking amazing treats for many years to come.

When you shop there, be sure to hit the MM and also join the inworld group. Karamel gives away delicious gifts every week.

SL's Next Top Model?

I was wandering through a store yesterday and came across an avatar wearing this tag: Platinum Super Model. Instantly consumed by tag envy, I vowed to be one too. I can do this!

See? That wasn't so hard, right? But dang! this parasol's heavy. I need to rest for just a minute.

Okokok, I'm on top of this. How long did you say I have to stand still?

What's that shiny thing over there? Oh, right! I'm a model. Check out my hair and jewelry.

I could almost do this. If only I weren't so shy.

Maybe I could try being a foot model?

Sigh. I guess I'll have to settle for a fake Super Model tag.

Appreciation

I met a really cute guy today. He said I look hot and gave me this puppy as a gift.

He winked and said I should do something for him to show my appreciation. I wonder what he'd like?

I know what! I'll make him some cookies.

They're in the oven and should be done any minute now. This is hard work but worth it. He'll be so happy!

My cookies turned out awesome. You can haz too.

Huh? He fed me to his plant?! He says he expected to play with my kitty. Did he forget he got me a puppy? This is not the reaction I was expecting.

Maybe he just doesn't like cookies?

I won the lottery \o/

I once won $5 in a scratch off lottery. So when I heard that Miao had a Scratch & Win HUD, I teleported over right away.

Sure enough, there it is!

I quickly purchased my ticket and took a minute to read the notecard in case there was any tricky fine print. There wasn't. It looks simple enough even for me.

I wore my HUD and all I had to do was click 3 of the circles to see if I get a match. Click, click, click. And voilà! I won! \o/

And almost immediately, I got this popup:

Woot! My prize is a cute tank top.

See you in Miao!

PS: I hear the Win & Wear systems will soon be on sale to store owners. Here's hoping we see one in every SL store!

What a Difference a Con Makes

I have almost been in SL for four years. Four! I have painstakingly organized most of my inventory into a tiered folder system, because secret agents have to be able to switch looks completely in a matter of seconds. But I hadn't really bothered to do that with my lingerie folder, which more accurately contains leggings, tights, stockings, socks, pajamas, swimsuits, and bathrobes! I mean, nobody sees these things, but I collect them - freebies, hunts, store gifts, and so on.

After going on the 3rd Annual Panty Raid Hunt on the Starlust sims, I knew I needed to sort the folder, including deleting what I'd never use. At the same time, I think I'll be more likely to use some of it since lately I've discovered some of the newer dresses I'm buying don't have the bicycle shorts underneath, and require a lady to wear something underneath unless I'm trying to reveal all my secrets!

The secret I am willing to share is how to get started on sorting your inventory. If you have amassed several thousand items, you won't want to do it all at once. You can follow these steps!

From Second Life Year 4.2

1. Select a category to focus on.

Luckily I already had my clothing sorted into general folders, but that is a good place to start if you haven't done it yet. Pick what makes sense for you. For me, general clothing categories - rather than outfits, colors, or store names - made the most sense.

From Second Life Year 4.2

2. In your selected category, designate subcategories.

Let's zoom into my folder structure. You can see I have also created sub-folders. Lingerie is too big of a category at the end of the day, but it is a nice group of items to have to start with. I broke it down into pajamas, socks, leggings, bra and panties sets, lingerie sets, and underwear alone. Socks will be divided into tights and socks, because that is a further distinction. It isn't perfect, but what makes it work is that it makes sense to ME. And unless someone uses my account to go undercover, I am the only person I'm worried about.

You might notice that each folder is preceded by an !*. That is to keep them at the top of the folder, just an anchor trick. I'll probably delete the symbols after I am done sorting.

From Second Life Year 4.2

3. Do not be afraid to eliminate items!

While I am a fan of keeping some random items on hand (you never know when you might need a harlequin costume, or a zombie skin), feel free to generously delete the crap. You know it when you see it. Hand drawn, textures that pull at your skin or warp your appearance, bad colors, poorly made textures, or just items that aren't your style.

This is also the time to delete items that are not part of your lifestyle in SL, that you may have picked up as freebies along the way. As someone who is not and has never been involved in the Gorean lifestyle, I was surprised to discover that I had five silks!

From Second Life Year 4.2

4. Try on EVERYTHING.

You might think you remember liking something. But the more you are in SL, and the more your taste develops, an item you used to wear might suddenly seem mediocre.

Or you might get a few giggles. I didn't exactly expect a holiday undergarment set to have this kind of look and feel!

This is going to take some time. You don't have to do it all at once. However, the next time you are being chased down a dark alley and need to transform from a librarian into a superhero, you'll be glad you took the time!

Secret Agent Sabotage

From Second Life Year 4

Pssst... hello, Agent Kazakov here. I have infiltrated the blog of ChatBrat Pippita after discovering the passwords in an undisclosed location. I am not at liberty to discuss why I am here. Well, I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. I can only divulge one clue - poses.

From Second Life Year 4.2

Every secret agent needs to look sharp while creeping around the grid. I have received declassified information that I will share at the end of this entry, including how you can modify your own appearance to mirror my own. That will be useful to me as I attempt to go dark after posting this entry. I am certain Ms. Pippita will be on my trail, so feel free to set yourself up as a decoy.

From Second Life Year 4.2

I have been collecting these images while keeping a low profile, something it is not always easy to do when exploring and protecting the liberty of all on the grid. Stay tuned for your mission.
